This one’s on us – Mercedes team sorry after Max Verstappen beats Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes team has issued a grovelling apology to their star driver.
They said “this one’s on us”, after two strategy mistakes allowed Max Verstappen to win Sunday’s French Grand Prix.
Verstappen passed Hamilton on the penultimate lap to take a pulsating contest at Circuit Paul Ricard and extend his championship lead to a dozen points.
