UK could see hottest March day on record as temperatures forecast to soar
The record from 1968 set in Mepal in Cambridgeshire could be broken
The Met Office say that it is a “possibility” that temperatures today could surpass the March record set over 50 years ago.
People have been making the most of sunny conditions across England after Monday’s easing of coronavirus rules which means groups of up to six, or two households, are now able to socialise in parks and gardens while outdoor sports facilities can reopen.
The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock issued a warning on Twitter, saying: “Let’s enjoy the sun but let’s do it safely. We have come so far, don’t blow it now.”
