Tuchel expects improvement

England manager Thomas Tuchel says he expects his squad to improve on its win against Albania in their World Cup qualifier at Wembley

Myles Lewis-Skelly said he was “lost for words” after becoming the country’s youngest goalscorer on debut at the age of 18 years and 176 days ahead of Harry Kane (pictured) scoring his 70th international goal in the second half.

But Tuchel is more demanding than that, telling ITV1: “We can do better, we have to do better.

“The opponent was hard to wear down as they defended in a deep block (but) second half I felt we were too slow and in general did not make enough runs off the ball to get behind them.”

Tuchel also wanted more from his wide players, with Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden not affecting the game and their replacements Anthony Gordon and Jarrod Bowen not making much difference.

“I hoped for more impact; less passes, more dribbling. I think this was missing. They were not as decisive as they can be,” the manager added.
