Nine police officers have been injured in two days of violence in Londonderry and Strabane.

The incidents included officers being headbutted and being charged at with a knife.

In some cases, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said officers also endured racial and sectarian abuse.

A property in the Highlands which was once owned by Jimmy Savile has been damaged by a fire.

An outbuilding at the Allt-na-Reigh cottage in Glen Coe caught fire on Saturday evening.

The site has been vandalised repeatedly since Savile’s death in 2011, and his exposure as a prolific sex offender.

An investigation has been ordered into a Labour WhatsApp group in which MP Andrew Gwynne posted offensive comments which led to him being sacked as a minister.

Mr Gwynne has apologised for the remarks which reportedly were sexist towards Deputy PM Angela Rayner and racist towards Diane Abbott, the first black woman MP.

He has apologised - and he has also been suspended from the party.
