Streeting ‘optimistic’ about bringing junior doctors’ dispute to an end

Wes Streeting said that a meeting with junior doctors from the BMA marked a “reset” on relations

The Health and Social Care Secretary, Wes Streeting, has said he is “optimistic” that the dispute between the Government and junior doctors in England can be brought to an end.

Dr Robert Laurenson (left), co-chair of the British Medical Association's junior doctors' committee and Vivek Trivedi (right), the co-chair of the junior doctors' committee, spoke to the media after leaving the Department for Health in central London, following a meeting with Health Secretary to discuss their pay dispute.

The parties are set to meet again next week.
