Starmer tells RNH he's not thought about waking up in No.10 yet
Speaking to Radio News Hub, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said he's not allowed himself to start thinking about life in Downing Street after the election just yet.
Speaking to Radio News Hub's David Prever whilst on the campaign trail in Cheshire, Sir Keir was pressed on how much thought he's given to life after the election if his party forms the next government.
He said: "There's so much hard work to do between now and then."
So he hasn't thought about it at all?
"No, as Vic my wife says, we take each day as it comes, we cross each bridge when we get to it.
"The polls don't predict the future, there are many constituencies where there are really close fights going on and we need to just carry on, focused and disciplined."
He did however say that he's really enjoyed his time out campaigning.
"We've been on the road in this campaign now for five weeks.
"To come here to Macclesfield, the sun is shining, there's cricket just over there, and a very warm crowd here for me to speak to.
"I've worked for four and a half years to get to this stage where we have our opportunity to put our positive case before the country.
"That gives me a spring in my step and a smile on my face, because we've got a positive case to take."
