Shooting in South Manchester
Residents asked to avoid the area
A street in south Manchester was reportedly taped off in response to a shooting on Friday night.
Dozens of officers were at the scene in Quinney Crescent and Great Western Street, Moss Side, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Police and ambulance crews also responded to the incident at the junction with residents asked to avoid the area.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called to the area following reports of a shooting.
A spokesperson told the paper there was a “reported firearms discharge on Quinney Crescent, Manchester”.
Road closures are understood to be in place.
It is not known if anyone was injured.
