Non intervention in Syria "unacceptable" - report
The Foreign Affairs Committee claims that the inaction of the international community in Syria was unacceptably high.
It effectively allowed the Assad regime to use chemical weapons against civilian populations and commit other atrocities.
Instead, the UK Government should be more prepared to use military force in response not to attacks using both chemical and conventional weapons.
The report calls on the Government to support a proposal, brought in 2013 by France, that would see members of the UN Security Council refraining from using the veto against humanitarian intervention 'where there is credible evidence of genocide.'
