Man who died in double stabbing named by police
A man who died following a double stabbing has been named by police.
Neri Morse, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, which happened on Pollard Street in the Ancoats area of Manchester at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, Greater Manchester Police said.
Another man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he continues to be treated for leg injuries.
A 23-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder after arriving at a hospital A&E overnight, remains in custody for questioning.
A second man, also 23, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned, a police spokesman said.
Detective Chief Inspector Wes Knights said: “Our thoughts are with Neri’s loved ones at this heartbreaking time.
“As our investigation continues, specially trained colleagues are supporting them.
“Since Wednesday night, we have built a detailed picture of the events leading up to this incident and, though we have two males in custody, inquiries are ongoing to ensure those involved are brought to face justice.
“I would like to use this opportunity to thank members of the public who’ve already shared information with us. We have now activated the Major Incident Public Portal and I encourage anyone who knows something which might assist us to contact us or Crimestoppers without hesitation.”
Anyone with information should contact police.
