MPs TO ELECT A NEW COMMONS SPEAKER.

Politicians are to pick a new speaker of the House of Commons later.

The new man or woman will replace the controversial John Bercow who stepped down last week.

 

Candidates include former Labour Minister Harriet Harman, Conservative MPs Sir Henry Bellingham and Edward Leigh and SNP MP Pete Wishart.

Voting should happen after 2.30 pm today.
