Gennaro Gattuso leaves role as Valencia boss
He leaves with the club 14th in the La Liga table
Gennaro Gattuso has left Valencia after just seven months in charge of the LaLiga club.
The former AC Milan and Napoli manager, 45, ends his short reign with Valencia languishing in 14th in the table, only one point above the relegation zone.
Gatusso’s final match was a 1-0 away defeat to Real Valladolid on Sunday. Voro takes control of first-team duties, his eighth caretaker spell in charge at Valencia.
A statement from the club read: “Valencia CF announce that this Monday, January 30th, the club and the first-team coach, Gennaro Gattuso, have decided by mutual agreement to end the contractual relationship between the two parties.
“The club wish to thank Gattuso for his commitment and work during his time in charge and wish him the best of luck for the future.
“The team will return to training this Tuesday, January 31st, under ‘Voro’ Gonzalez.”
