GLASGOW CITY CENTRE FIRE BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL

Firefighters have brought a large blaze in Glasgow city centre under control.

The alarm was raised about the incident at Lancefield Quay at 6.43pm on Monday, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sending 12 appliances to the scene.

Crews were met with a "well-developed" fire within the second floor of the three-storey building.

An SFRS spokeswoman said on Tuesday morning the blaze had been "scaled down", with five appliances still in attendance.

"There are no reports of casualties or injuries," the spokeswoman said.
