Commuters face biggest rail fare rise in five years
The total cost of tickets has gone up 3.4%
From today, commuters are facing a rise in ticket prices of 3.4% - the biggest increase in fares in five years.The hike affected both regulated and unregulated tickets, including off-peak travel and season tickets.It's thought some commuters will end up paying more than £100 extra per year.Some campaigners say workers are being priced out of getting to work.But the Rail Delivery Group are promising to re-invest 97% of the money in rail network improvements.
