Calls grow for e-cigarette flavouring to be banned
E-cigarette flavourings and misleading adverts should be banned to protect youth - Forum of International Respiratory Societies statement
A group of experts are say there should be an immediate ban on e-cigarette flavourings and marketing e-cigarettes.
They say it's currently being sold as a lower risk alternative to smoking tobacco to children and adolescents.
A statement by the Forum of International Respiratory Societies published in the European Respiratory Journal is warning that it can be glorifying the idea of smoking to some children.
It says there is evidence that e-cigarettes damage health and are highly addictive, and cites evidence that suggests children and adolescents are highly susceptible to nicotine addiction.
It's as a new report finds fewer people across the world are smoking tobacco.
But the World Health Organisation is still warning that just one in eight countries are likely to hit new targets.
There are plans to try and reduce how many people smoke worldwide by 2025.
