Funding for Ambulances not keeping with demand

A group of MPs are warning funding for new ambulances across the country is failing to keep up with demand.

Funding increases for urgent and emergency services provided by ambulance trusts have not kept up with rising demand, which leaves trusts struggling to meet targets for response times.

That's according to a report by MPs on the Public Accounts Committee.

Significant variations between trusts in operational and financial performance have persisted or worsened due to insufficient work being done to understand the variation, the report says.
